Maria Positano shaped her practice crossing paths between 2D and 3D languages: the Italian artist is currently working with processes involving the natural element of fire; scorching and shaping wood and casting with wax and bronze.

 

She is currently completing her BA in Fine Art, with a specific focus on creating an interdisciplinary practice.

Her selected exhibitions include: Dimensions, Menier Gallery, 2018, London; One Need Not Be a Chamber, Exposed Arts Projects, 2018 London; Making Meaning: The Monolith and the Object of Worship, Subsidiary Projects, London; Intermediaries, Rijksmuseum Twenthe, 2017, Enshede.

The artist recently won The Merlin Entertainments Madame Tussauds Project Fund Award, which founded her newest works. She also got selected to be part of the AKI Art School exchange project organized by the artist Helen Frick, which was finalized to produce one work to exhibit in the Rijksmuseum Twenthe, between July and August 2017.

Maria Positano is exploring the individual´s psychological engagement and immersive experience with the object.
